Forming a LLC, limited liability company, requires the filing of Articles of Organization. Form a LLC to get limited liability protection and pass-through taxation. LLC formation does require the filing of tax returns, but income and/or loss is passed thru to the members.

Prior to starting business operations, the members should complete an LLC operating agreement that sets forth the rules for running the LLC and the rights of the members.
